About us...

We are a growing community of rhythm lovers from Staunton, Virginia and surrounding towns, and we love to learn, play and celebrate West African rhythms on traditional West African instruments.  Newcomers are always welcome in our fun and easy hand drumming classes just a few miles south of the beautiful city of Staunton, Virginia.

Come learn with us

Feeling the call of the drum?  Never played any instrument before and a bit nervous?  No worries! Drumming on the Djembe and the Djuns is easy to get the hang of, and you'll be playing in no time!

Drumming brings passion to my life. Being a part of the DrumForFun community brings joy and a sense of family. Mae has a natural gift for drumming and her style of teaching has helped me to evolve and gain confidence in my skills. When we perform for others, I see the smiles of the onlookers and I feel the spirit of the drum spreading that joyous energy. I am grateful to Mae and know that many lives have been touched and transformed by her warm heart and dedication.

Mae works with event organizers, families, work teams, church and other community groups to create enjoyable and energizing rhythm events, either at her drumming studio or at other sites.
